This marks my second blogger-award reception since I started blogging regularly on October 13th! This one was given to me by my new and lovely Computer-Friend, Sunesiss. (Click here to see her blog.) Thank you, Sunesiss! 🙂
THE “SUNSHINE” RULES:
- Thank the person/people who nominated you.
- Answer the questions from your nominators.
- Nominate eleven other bloggers and give them eleven questions.
- Please check out all of the blogs I nominated and follow them if you like.
Sunesiss decided to be a little rebellious; and instead of forming 11 questions (which I won’t do, either), she just asked us to explain why we blog and write. I think that’s great!
So: why do I blog and write? The simplest answer is, I blog because I write. I’ve been an author for about seven years now, and for three of those years I’ve been self-publishing on Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing. In October, my book The Grey Rider was a part of the Kindle Scout program; and I’m currently waiting to see if I’ll be selected for publication.
Really, I started blogging more regularly to see if I could attract readers’ attention, and thereby get more nominations on Kindle Scout. I’m not sure if that worked out; but I DO know that I sure have made a lot of new and wonderful Computer-Friends! As a person who spends most of my time alone, it’s really rewarding to have a place to connect with people. I’ve gotten a lot more out of this new experience than just nominations. I’ve made great friends.
Here are my 11 nominations for the Sunshine Award, in no particular order at all, as I think they’re all equally deserving:
Wandering Wives (a lesbian couple who craft stunning posts about their many travels)
The Pale Rook (a very talented woman who hand-crafts beautiful dolls)
Carl K. Li (a young man who writes interesting and entertaining articles about some of my favorite things: cartoons and children’s entertainment! Think Peter Pan and Harry Potter)
sWe (a super-awesome poet whose words never fail to amaze me)
Whimsical Through Words (a gifted writer whose posts are filled with wonder and magic)
Papagheda on Tour (an Italian photographer whose shots always take my breath away! Alas — I can’t read any of the words, but the pictures speak for themselves!)
Pastel Carousel (a very stylish young lady who loves stripes and polka dots — just like me! — and who has excellent taste when it comes to thrift-shopping)
Philip M. Edwards (a wonderful writer and Computer-Friend who’s always diligent about paying attention to my posts — thanks, Philip!)
Cathy Lynn Brooks (a very busy woman who works online AND crafts handmade wedding invitations! Her posts are always interesting; often poignant and beautiful)
Grady P. Brown (a talented young writer — he’s 26, the same age as me! — who makes the most of his autism, and uses his computer-like brain to store all the fascinating details about his wonderful stories)
Stephanae V. McCoy (a truly inspiring woman, who is now legally blind, but who still takes great pains when it comes to her appearance; she gives out awesome beauty tips on her blog)
Well, all right, then! Those are my nominations. There are so many other wonderful people I could have nominated; but I’ll just have to save them for later!
As for my assignment: it’s only this. Tell us something about yourself that you don’t often blog about, but which you feel is an essential part of what makes you YOU! It’s all about getting to know each other. So tell us more about you!
And, of course, I don’t expect all the people I nominated to sit down and take an hour to respond to this post. Not everyone has the time; and that’s all right. But I couldn’t let Sunesiss down! Thanks for reading, everybody. 🙂
