For all of us here in New England, autumn is sort of starting to draw to a close, and there are some days when you can really see winter coming! I don’t love winter; but I do love Christmas. After that, it just gets sort of blah . . .
But this is about autumn! I’ve been nominated to do this tag by the lovely Rae from Pastel Carousel. (She has the most awe-somest taste in, like — everything.)
Rules for the Tag:
2. Thank the last person who tagged you and link their blogs in your post.
3. Be thoughtful and creative when you answer these questions.
4. After answering the questions, pass the tag onto at least five more bloggers to spread the autumn joy!
1. What is your go-to fall color?
Don’t really have one. My fave color is pink; always will be. All shades of pink, except for the really bright one. Even in the colder weather, I love pastel colors. I just finished washing my whole collection of hats, scarves and gloves — and they’re all shades of baby pink, blue and purple.
2. When you think of fall, what song comes to mind?
Huh. That’s a tough one. I guess “Autumn Leaves” by Roger Williams — the piano guy. I learned about him from my eighty-year-old neighbor and friend, who shares all her music with me.
3. During the fall, which trend to do you lean towards more, smoky eye or dark lip?
The smokiest stuff my eyes usually get is a little eyeliner. I wear that, and powder foundation, all year long. I used to wear eye-shadow, too — but not so much anymore. (I wore mascara in high school. What a sticky mess!)
4. Do you change up your skincare routine when fall comes in?
All year round, it’s the same. I can’t use regular moisturizer, since EVERY SINGLE KIND makes my face break out; so, after my shower, I put on the Coppertone Clearly Sheer for Faces. (The one with 50 SPF, for beach and pool. It has nice moisture to it; doesn’t make me break out; and also provides sun protection. Which is great — because I take doxycycline once a day, to keep acne and redness under control, and the sun doesn’t mix well with that medication.)
At night, after I wash my face, I put on hydrocortisone. It keeps away those little dry, red, itchy patches that I have a tendency to get on my face. I use the kind from Wal-Mart with aloe and vitamin E, and all that jazz, because it works as a moisturizer, too.
I know — my face is complicated!
5. What’s your favorite thing about fall?
My favorite thing about fall is the return of new Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and all-new Once upon a Time! (I know; I’m a dork.)
I love the colors of the leaves — but they’re pretty much all gone now. I just raked up the last of them this past week 🙂
6. Would you rather go out for a walk or stay inside the house during fall?
I would rather do both! I like to go for a walk every day, as long as it’s not super-frigid; but after that, I do enjoy coming back to my basement office, to enjoy a nice cup of tea (and a glass of wine).
Now, I know this is the part where I’m supposed to nominate five more people — but honestly, when I nominate people for tags and things, they don’t usually post back. Not that I blame them; it takes a long time with the links and all. So, although I know that I’m defeating the purpose of spreading the “autumn joy,” I’m just going to post this as a thank-you to Rae for thinking of me, and leave it at that.
But hey — if anyone feels like doing their own post on the “Falling Into Autumn” tag, just for the heck of it, I’d love to read it!
Truthfully, I don’t even always do these things myself. I was nominated a couple of weeks ago for the Blogger Recognition Award by Little Monster Girl, who makes the coolest comics. I thanked her from the bottom of my heart for thinking of me; but I never posted back. Sorry, LMG!
